It seems viewers expect photos of the Grand Canyon to look like, well, the Grand Canyon. However, a great variety of reflections in the Colorado River kept me occupied. These abstract, more intimate scenes, are preferable to me over your typical landscape photography.
I was fortunate to have a photographer friend in Springdale, Utah, Seth Hamel, invite me on a November trip to Iceland at the same time as I was exploring my own winter Icelandic adventure. Of course this place is spectacular… It is in the Swiss Alps! However, we had just come from Corvara, Italy in the Dolomites and it was quickly apparent the whole town of Lauterbrunnen is much more rustic and in need of a bit of a makeover by comparison.
