Thirty-two days on the Seabourn Quest, our longest cruise yet.
Our 32 day cruise began in Lisbon, Portugal. The Portuguese say Lisboa. Our cruise itinerary seemed to include every place that ended in “…land.” That would include England, Ireland, Scotland, Iceland, Greenland, many islands and finally Newfoundland. We accomplished our main goal. Get out of the August heat of Idaho. Greenland may have been my favorite.
Bucharest Elegance
The large Old Town section of Bucharest is packed with tourists, Romanians on ‘holiday’ and locals eating at the great restaurants. We could have conquered the trolley system, but after sitting around the apartment with our computers all morning making lodging reservations, we needed the exercise the three mile trip offered.

During our first six month trip many cultural differences were certainly expected between the United States and Europe, including the UK. However, here is a list of some differences which were unexpected, many pleasantly so.
